The mission for the perfect jeans

Friday 20 November 2015

The last time I wore a pair of jeans must have been around two years ago. I have been in a constant failure of finding a pair of the correct cut, fit, colour and denim. My search was always narrowed down to the skinny jean, wanting the elegant french cigarette style. When trying on this style, the leg was always so ill fitting, bagging around my knees and lower leg.
I gave up, and ventured away from the thought of jeans. There were plenty of other styles out there, the wide leg especially which I always enjoyed the thought of, however did not have the confidence to even try a pair on.

This Autumn however, my confidence has grown and I am taking steps into introducing trousers into my wardrobe. I have ventured into purchasing a pair of velvet, wide legged trousers from Cos which, I must admit are amazing! They are so comfortable, flattering (hurrah!), and can be dressed up or down. I can feel a new addiction coming on, and I am already on the hunt for more, including these jeans from Apiece Apart.
The Japanese raw denim, ticks the box of required fabric I have been wanting my pair of jeans to be composed of.  The high waist highlights the feminine form, and the wide-flare adds a relaxed shape. They are also cropped, which it the most prominent feature I have been desiring in the search for my perfect pair of jeans.

APC Lavallière jumper - The brown obsession continues

Friday 13 November 2015

Part three of my brown obsession continues.

This morning whilst looking through my emails, I found that APC's  Resort SS16 collection is now available. I felt my usual rush of excitement to explore the clothing and accessories ( it does feel rather early to begin thinking about spring wear, however, there is no harm in being organised!)
Whilst browsing the collection, my current appeal to brown, brought my eye to this this  merino sweater.
In-keeping current with my current hue of favour, it's fine knit allows transition through seasons, an element I look for within the majority of my purchases. The traditional, masculine crew neck has been altered with the addition of a tie, allowing the options of a bow or a simple knot.
This may have to be my next purchase from APC, adding to my ever growing collection of browns...

Caramel sweater x wide leg

The caramel themed obsession continues, with this roll neck sweater by Nanushka. The pairing with wide legged trousers is drawing me in further, with such item coming to the height of my thoughts...

Chocolate, Cocoa and Caramel

Monday 2 November 2015

Chocolate, cocoa and caramel are emerging at the top of my wardrobe necessities and day to day wear. The tone relieves the harshness of the usual black, whilst maintaining the subtlety of hue which I require in my outfits. The colour is perfect for autumn, I get the feeling of blending into the season when wearing my cocoa Margaret Howell roll neck, as well as immersing into it's cashmere woollen comfort, which is required on the ever-so coming chilly days.
I can feel myself being drawn into purchasing more of the hue, after being inspired by vintage items from The Mercantile, and gaining inspiration via archived Harpers Bazaar (courtesy of London college of fashion library - I have just began my Fashion journalism Degree!)
I am not a one for wearing bold colours, maintaining a monotonous themed wardrobe; however I feel that I am now ready to emerge into more earthy tones, adding olive to the browns, introducing a hint of colour into my wardrobe.
