Céline modernist earring

Thursday, 19 May 2016

Céline. Beautiful, beautiful Céline! Or should I say all hail Pheobe Philo? Her boutique's designs are unequivocally stunning as her collections, with the marble tiled floors, stained glass vases and stone shelving. As a continuation of the interior, comes her spring summer collection. Producing jewellery featuring ritualised quartz and falconeye stone, these earrings particularly enticed me. Their veined blocks hanging from a brass wire sit at the collar bone, creating a dual piece of earring and necklace. Using the same materials as her specialised designed stores, I feel as if a piece of the architecture is hanging from my ear.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh Roberta pump

Sunday, 17 April 2016

After being introduced to Maryam Nassir Zadeh by my sister, I am in complete, utter love. Her shoes are magnificently effortless, their simple design of a relaxed ballet shoe with small block heel providing refined elegance and overwhelming comfort. The soft suede moulds to the foot, and exposes it's natural silhouette, which I find refreshingly elegant from the usual harsh leather footwear which have a form of their own.

Classic Chanel pump

Wednesday, 6 April 2016

These grosgrain toe capped, lambskin pumps are the ultimate classic shoe I have been looking for. After owning the classic chanel ballet pump I felt that I required something a little more sophisticated and refined. I already own the highly coveted sling back from last season, but felt I needed something more hard wearing for my walking back and forth from university, and around London. These ticked the box, with the leather being surprisingly sturdy, whist still upholding an appearance of luxurious delicacy - plus the heels are embelished with the super cute gold double C emblem that I could not resist.

Margaret Howell midi skirt

Thursday, 24 March 2016

Way back in September, I found a olive green corduroy midi skirt by Margaret Howell. It was a much welcome alternative
for my uniform of mini skirts and tailored shorts. I became too afraid of leaving my comfort zone to go ahead and buy it, and so I left it hanging at the back of my mind, and kicking myself for letting the autumn/ winter season pass without making the purchase.
This week, I received an email informing me of a Margaret Howell sample sale. After forgetting to go to the last sale, I had to go this time. I forgot again, and realised one hour before closing I needed to go! Getting there within half an hour of closing, I rushed in to see if there was any thing left which was worth a purchase. Heading over to the rails, luck stuck and there was the corduroy skirt- the last one available and in my size.
I immediately snatched it off the rack, and found that it had 75% percent taken off the original price. I must say, I did dash to the counter and run away with my highly awaited bargain feeling very, very pleased with my unexpected purchase.

Sculptural forms

Tuesday, 15 March 2016

Sculptural forms have been on my mind for interior design for a long time, and I have been wishing to express this through my exterior dressing. Finding these earrings have accomplished this desire to adorn myself with such sculptural aesthetic.

Céline sandal

Monday, 7 March 2016

Rumours of Phoebe Philo leaving Céline caused me to crumble into a pit of despair. Her AW15 and SS16 collections have been far too satisfying for her to go, and leave me wanting so much more!
Thankfully, the rumours are not true, as they most often, are not.
To say that I was relieved would be an overstatement.
This season, I have my eye on these navy suede sandals.
They fit the essence of Philo's modern minimal, but the navy suede and gold buckle add a sense of relaxed wearability that I love.

My love of lilac has always ceased when it came to fashion, however these suede pumps by Mariam Nassir Zadeh are most definitely an exception.
