Caramel sweater x wide leg

Monday, 9 November 2015

The caramel themed obsession continues, with this roll neck sweater by Nanushka. The pairing with wide legged trousers is drawing me in further, with such item coming to the height of my thoughts...

Chocolate, Cocoa and Caramel

Monday, 2 November 2015

Chocolate, cocoa and caramel are emerging at the top of my wardrobe necessities and day to day wear. The tone relieves the harshness of the usual black, whilst maintaining the subtlety of hue which I require in my outfits. The colour is perfect for autumn, I get the feeling of blending into the season when wearing my cocoa Margaret Howell roll neck, as well as immersing into it's cashmere woollen comfort, which is required on the ever-so coming chilly days.
I can feel myself being drawn into purchasing more of the hue, after being inspired by vintage items from The Mercantile, and gaining inspiration via archived Harpers Bazaar (courtesy of London college of fashion library - I have just began my Fashion journalism Degree!)
I am not a one for wearing bold colours, maintaining a monotonous themed wardrobe; however I feel that I am now ready to emerge into more earthy tones, adding olive to the browns, introducing a hint of colour into my wardrobe.

Art, objects and fashion

Tuesday, 25 August 2015

Art, objects and fashion blend together seamlessly. The combination of ceramics, silvers, chromes and textiles are creating a heavenly image of art and fashion being intwined into the same theme, and displayed as one.

Sophie Buhai's ikabana vase designs, resemble her in house collection of cuff bracelets and oversized necklaces. The large, ornamental style jewellery could also serve as home decor accessories, which is a purpose I would enjoy to utilise .
To wear such peices, conveys the wearers architectural style, alongside fashion. The action of wearing such items, display the architectural theme favoured by the wearer.

I am particularly in love with the simplicity of the items, combined with simplistic clothing which creating an artistic image conveying the wearers proposition towards art, interior and fashion.
The bold, however simplistic pieces create an understated understanding of interest towards architecture and fashion, which I have found calming and chic.

This route of style is quickly becoming, with many online stores blending the items for sale: current and vintage clothing, art and objects for sale all along each other, complimenting each piece.

MNZ Canaria

Friday, 24 July 2015

The designs by Maryam Nassir Zadeh provide the laid back, elegance which I have been seeking for months.
They sit on the body, defining the most feminine points, the silhouette of the shoulder, and the curvature of the back, enhancing the most beautiful features of a woman's body.
The cardigan and tank worn together creating a twinset add to my excitement of owning these peices. When worn apart the  the peices still fulfil the elegance I have required, due to the cinnamon hue and light knitted texture.

MNZ Indigo Tank

Wednesday, 8 July 2015

Cami tops and tank tops are the usual go-to item of choice for the summer, however I  feel as if these two items have been highly over worn, and I require something more exciting.
This tank by MNZ has cobined the two pecies, and created a modern approach of the tank. The extra detail of the central opening, with single button has also added a sexy approach, to such a boxy shape, prompting my need to purchase this item.

Diamond jewellery

Monday, 6 July 2015

A peice of jewellery has been on my list of future ownership for a long period, however I have always found myself within a struggle of finding the perfect peice. I have longed for a simple, meaningful object, and have always came at loggerheads with myself of whether to opt for a necklace or bracelet.
I have came across two perfect peices, all at once, with the desire for both being 50-50.
I first found the diamond necklace, with my instinct telling me it was utterly perfect, and no other peice of jewellery could match this level. The simplicity of the diamond, hanging off the gold chain, without the distraction of it being sunken in a golden casing, made this peice so dissimilar to the mass of peices produced by many other jewellers, evoked my initial lust for this rare finding.
However, I soon found that this instinct, was not 100% true, when stood at the counter in APC, a beautifully, delicate Tiffany chain, with sparingly scattered diamonds, hung off the wrist of the lady in front.
I am in current despair of which item to purchase, with both being within the same price range, adding to the difficulty of making a rational decision based on this factor.

Sweater tee

Sunday, 14 June 2015

I am not at all a sporty person, hiding behind the person in front in net ball indicated this to me in my early teens, fashioning myself within my P.E kit was the only way to get through the dreaded lesson.
I have always admired sportswear, longing for a tenis outfit as a child, due to the fun, short, bouncy nature of the skirt, and into the progression of teenage hood, I found the perfect simple A line,  black collared polo shirt dress by Fred perry,  to also long for fulfilling my sport-style desires.
Since, I forgot about sport style from my early teens, veering towards a more feminine approach.
As of late, I have  found myself drawn to the knitted-tee style garment, focalising on my much desired high neck design, combined with the  exposure of the arm along with the lose fit. , thus creating a perfect summer-time piece of comfort, and, demure sexuality.
These  sweaters, hold the fun, sporty shape I was initially drawn to, with the now, mature elegance I require.
