Nandi Naya Yoli earrings

Thursday, 4 August 2016

Dadaism has never enthralled me, I prefer the visible effort in impressionism. These earrings inspired  by artist Jean Arp however have enticed me. The way the hover on the ear, and their smooth simplicity fulfil my minimal tendencies. I have said before, I enjoy the way earrings can bring the beauty of sculpture to the body- and these minimal hoops certainly do.

Summer hue

Friday, 22 July 2016

The season of heat, excitement and vibrancy seems to have finally arrived. My mind is focusing on the warm haze it brings, and the colour palette to match. Shades of putty, ivory, silver and tawny  have been central to my inner moodboard. Here are the current images filling my mind.

Salvatore Ferragamo twin set

Tuesday, 12 July 2016

Two images spring to mind when thinking of a twin set: a 1940s secretary or an elegant sixties editorial. I hope this golden duo encapsulates the latter, with perhaps a slinky 90s feel.
The metallic hue of the silk does reflect the sheen of the decade, with the golden tips of the cardigan tie adding that extra sparkle. The combination of a two piece gives me a great sense of satisfaction, with the pieces allowing for mixing and matching. With this set, I will be wearing it from day to night thanks to the muted tone, and simplicity.

Tee shirts

Thursday, 30 June 2016

My current pieces of desire. Teeshirts are my new items of lust, and make for easy pairing. With the addition of jewellery, their simplicity allows them to dressed up or down. Myself, I would style them with culottes and MNZ slides for daytime, and add my Celine earrings for evening.
The Sophie Buhai ring is also particularly enticing...

Summer legs

Sunday, 19 June 2016

Summer legs: Tanned limbs and sandy flip-flops are usually what come to mind. However when it comes to British summertime, this is not always the case. With sunny days being a a rarity, trousers are my go to piece.
Coming with my love of culottes, these are the pairs I'm longing for this season.

A new look

Thursday, 2 June 2016

The last six months of my life have been very different, welcoming a huge change. I haven't had a baby or got married. However I have welcomed a new piece into my wardrobe: trousers. Culottes have walked their way into my life!

My outfits usually consist of mini skirts and shorts. I  avoided trousers and jeans due to my fear of their masculinity and skin tight exposure. Culottes came surprise, after trying them to see if the dreaded trouser could appeal. They really did! Presenting me with my love for a-line and  refreshing sophistication .

I then came across the most beautiful pair of white trousers by Joseph. Already seeking white for summer, these are what I have been waiting for. The elegant material allows for evening wear, while the cut allows for a relaxed daytime look. Being such a simple piece, they will transition from season to season, day to night - or day to day in British climate!

Selling a pair in black, another pair may somehow wander in my wardrobe... just in preparation for winter.

Céline modernist earring

Thursday, 19 May 2016

Céline. Beautiful, beautiful Céline! Or should I say all hail Pheobe Philo? Her boutique's designs are unequivocally stunning as her collections, with the marble tiled floors, stained glass vases and stone shelving. As a continuation of the interior, comes her spring summer collection. Producing jewellery featuring ritualised quartz and falconeye stone, these earrings particularly enticed me. Their veined blocks hanging from a brass wire sit at the collar bone, creating a dual piece of earring and necklace. Using the same materials as her specialised designed stores, I feel as if a piece of the architecture is hanging from my ear.
